Labor Doula Support $1000
Initial Consultation
Schedule a complimentary meeting over the phone, virtually, or in person. Let’s meet for coffee and talk about you and your pregnancy and what you are looking for in doula support. You will have all your questions answered!
2 Prenatal Childbirth Prep Sessions
Two thorough prenatal childbirth prep visits are included in the comfort of your own home. The prenatal visits are for you so they will focus on what is important to you, but they often focus on an overview of the physiological birth, discussion of all birth planning options, creating a birth plan, helpful positions during labor and pregnancy, comfort measures, breathing, tips for partners, what to expect postpartum, and learning about ways to prepare the mind and body for the endurance that is needed for the marathon of childbirth. Preparing for Childbirth booklet included. Additionally, you may make use of prenatal support throughout the pregnancy and after via text or phone calls.
Labor and Birth Support
Whether you are birthing at home, in a natural birthing center, or at a hospital, I will be another familiar face beside you. I will talk you through the early stages of your labor and will come to you when you decide you are ready for my support. I work with your birth team to support you and your partner by helping to create a comforting, calming, and peaceful birthing space which can help labor progress. I work with your partner and birth team to follow your lead and provide the support you need in the moment, whether that be physical support through massage, breathing with you, reminding you to try the comfort measures you planned, providing ideas for positioning, capturing memories, or providing loving encouragement. Support measures vary from person to person, pregnancy to pregnancy, and moment to moment.
Following the birth, I stay for 1-2 hours during recovery.
Postpartum Visit
I will schedule a visit with you and your family within the first 2 weeks after birth. This visit can be in person or virtually if you prefer. This visit will focus on family adjustment, your physical and emotional healing and recovery, processing the birth, and discussing infant care. I can answer any questions for you and provide community resources and referrals if necessary. The first couple of months postpartum can be intense for some, so feel free to send a message anytime. I love when families continue to send pictures and updates of their families and little ones!
